Portsmouth Naval Shipyard helps the local economy

June 30, 2015

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is being praised for their role in the local economy. We are proud that 13% of their employees are from Sanford, Maine and are an entrical part of the Shipyard's success.

Association President Paul O’Connor stated in a recent news article that he: "added up the economic totals from 2006 to 2014, the last nine years, and the shipyard has added more than $5.1 billion to the local economy. If we didn’t have the shipyard for an economic shot in the arm, this area would be a ghost town.”

Our Sanford employees deserve a pat on the back!
