Greenlight Maine Competition offers Maine Entrepreneurs Chance to Win $100,000 Cash Prize

October 9, 2015

Greenlight Maine is a statewide collaboration of entrepreneurial catalysts and corporate leaders, designed to promote and mentor the development and growth of business in Maine. Through this program, 26 Maine entrepreneurs are competing for a $100,000 cash prize. Prize money for Greenlight Maine is being provided by Maine Accelerates Growth through a grant by The Maine Community Foundation.

The competition began on September 12th and televises weekly match-ups between companies on WCSH - 6 and on WLBZ - 2. Contestants pitch their ideas to a panel of judges in a similar style to the popular "Shark Tank" television series. The Greenlight Maine judges choose which company in each match-up moves to the next round, but viewers are able to vote for their favorite company - and may help a company earn a "wild card" spot in the next round. The Greenlight Maine website has profiles on each of the companies competing for the prize, as well as information on each of the judges.
