Young Eagles Flight Rally Rescheduled to May 20th at Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport

May 3, 2017

Due to the weather, the Young Eagles Flight Rally scheduled for May 6th has been rescheduled for May 20. Kids will still have the opportunity to take to the air on the new date at Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport. The event aims to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation, and gives youth aged 8-17 the chance to meet a pilot in person and see what they do, both on the ground and in the air.

"The Young Eagles program is made up of pilots who volunteer their time and aircraft to give kids the opportunity to experience aviation for FREE," says Airport Manager Allison Rogers. "They have been holding rallies at SFM for years now and have given hundreds of kids in our region a chance to see our airport and discover the exhilaration of flight for free! We are so pleased that the Young Eagles Rallies take place here, grateful to the pilots who so graciously volunteer, and excited for the future rallies, including the one taking place this May."

The Young Eagles program is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and has flown over 2 million children nationwide with the help of a network of volunteer pilots and ground crew.
