Adaptation of Stephen King Short Story Filmed in Sanford

September 18, 2015

This summer, Sanford High School became a filming location for "Suffer the Little Children", a new film by Maine director Corey Norman based on a short story by author Stephen King.  The film is a "Dollar Baby", a film which King allowed to be adapted from a short story for only $1, with the condition that it will only be shown at film festivals and not commercially distributed.  Norman also directed The Hanover House, which won the Best Feature and Best Maine Film awards at the first ever Sanford International Film Festival in 2014, and "Tickle", which was a nominee for Best Maine Film at the 2015 festival. "Suffer the Little Children" will be shown at the 2016 Sanford International Film Festival next May.
