Sanford Pre-K - 8 School Reconfiguration Referendum June 13

June 5, 2017

On Tuesday, June 13 there will be a public referendum for Sanford voters to formally approve the Pre-K - 8th Grade school reconfiguration project. The $42.9 million project, which will be 100% state funded, will result in upgraded and right-sized facilities for elementary and middle schools throughout the community.

A straw poll taken in May showed overwhelming support for the project, which will refurbish the current Sanford High School as a middle school for grades 5-8, and will refurbish the current Sanford Junior High School as an elementary school for grades Pre-K - 4. Margaret Chase Smith Elementary School will be expanded significantly.

Read this excellent brochure from the Sanford Build Our Future group for more information on the planned school improvements and a summary of the reconfiguration plan.

And then be sure to VOTE on June 13!
